So listening to the lies and evasions of the Palin/McCain campaign in the last few weeks, and those of their supporters and apologists, a really old Saturday Night Live skit comes to mind.
Think this comparison is funny but a stretch?
Take a look at this:
Politico take one:
As part of a plan to reinvigorate his flagging campaign, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is considering additional economic measures aimed directly at the middle class that are likely to be rolled out this week, campaign officials said.
Among the measures being considered are tax cuts – perhaps temporary – for capital gains and dividends, the officials said.
Politico take two:
"Now is the time to lower tax rates for investors, capital gains tax, dividend tax rates, to make sure that we can get the economy jump-started," Graham told host Bob Schieffer. "The worst thing we could do now, Bob, is to increase federal spending and increase taxes on small business like Senator Obama would propose." (Lindsey Graham)
Politico take three?
Candygram?
Sarah Palin take one:
"No, and if you read the report you'll see that there was nothing unlawful or unethical about replacing a cabinet member. You gotta read the report, sir."
Sarah Palin take two:
"Well, I’m very very pleased to be cleared of any legal wrongdoing," Palin said, "any hint of any kind of unethical activity there. Very pleased to be cleared of any of that."
Sarah Palin take three?
No, I'm not a shark, I'm a dolphin!
And that's what this whole campaign reminds me of: The SNL Land Shark skit.
McCain Palin want you the middle class of America to open the door so they can eat you. So they'll try and say anything. It's not just lies, it's bamboozling.
